The Memphis Online Film Critics chose Lady Bird as its Best Picture winner and not only gave Best Director to Greta Gerwig but interestingly, they awarded Lady Bird with the Best Art Direction award. While Lady Bird continues to be a steamroller along with Sam Rockwell who won another Supporting Actor prize, there were some surprising firsts to be found: Octavia Spencer’s first Supporting Actress win, The Big Sick for Best Screenplay, and A Fantastic Woman won Best Foreign Film.
