33rd European Film Awards Nominations Announced

In case you missed it yesterday, the European Film Academy (EFA) unveiled their nominees in several categories for the 2021 European Film Awards. The winners ceremony was, of course, meant to take place in Reykjavík, Iceland on 12th December 2020. But will now be a virtual event, broadcast from Berlin, given the lockdown measures resulting from the current Covid-19 pandemic.

This year’s European Film Awards nominations include Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round, Jan Komasa’s Corpus Christi, Vaclav Marhoul’s The Painted Bird and Christian Petzold’s Undine – four of the six films selected in the Best Film category. Agnieszka Holland also shows up in the Best Director list for Charlatan, as well as Feras Fayyad landing a well deserved spot in the Best Documentary nominations with The Cave.
