Best Visual Effects Oscars Predictions (November)

It’s all quiet in the race for Best Visual Effects until the Academy unveils its shortlist on December 21. After Warner Bros. punted Dune to a March release, this race opened wide up and Oppenheimer was ready to take the presumed lead. While its visual effects aren’t as CGI-heavy as other contenders, the recreation of the nuclear test is one of the greatest moments on screen this year and will likely be more than enough to secure the film a win here. But, let’s see how the season progresses.
