Greg Tarzan Davis, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Halle Berry on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival 2025
This year marks the 78th Cannes International Film Festival. But just days before the red-carpet opening ceremony, the stars were informed of the new and much stricter dress code for this year’s festival attire. Such restrictions included banning sheer dresses and large trains.
However, of course some opted to draw outside the lines and adapt their original designs to fit the new rules like Julia Garner’s black sheer dress. Whilst others like Heidi Klum’s eye-catching pink floral gown that featured a rather endless train owned the Cannes red carpet and carved space for herself. But with such last-minute restrictions placed on celebrities, their stylists can only do so much to prepare for the red-carpet ceremony. Here are ten best looks from day one of Cannes 2025.
