I use the term ‘garbage’ in reference to many of the dire films on display here, but also the concept of the Razzies themselves. I know, they are supposed to be fun. But are they?
The 2020 Golden Raspberry Awards are usually thrown into the ring prior to the Academy Awards, but given the early closure of awards season this year it has left the ‘worst in film’ ambassadors scratching their heads. The likes of The Fanatic, The Haunting of Sharon Tate, The Hustle and Serenity rightly feature here. Though I think the inclusion of Francesca Hayward for Cats is off the mark.
Even more ridiculous is the ‘official’ announcement of the Razzies on their YouTube channel. Here’s the full list of this year’s Razzie nominations if you’re at all inclined:
