CLOSING DAY Friday 16th September 2016 (all-day event)
Film: Mustang
Femme Filmmaker: Deniz Gamze Ergüven
The five sisters majestically depicted in Deniz Gamze Ergüven’s Mustang reside in a truly beautiful coastal town, but their current lifestyles appear to be that of oppression and claustrophobia, told where not to go and what not to do, and told who to marry. Through the enthusiasm and spirit of the girls, and the exceptional film-making, from the bleakness comes empowerment. There’s a hell of a lot more to this gem than the concept that girls just want to have fun.

Agenda
Tons for streaming options here, and hardly any expense spared, for a film that has not been with us that long – and runs at just over 90 minutes. I cannot recommend this enough, and a perfect way to close out the Femme Filmmakers Festival. Please comment below or get involved elsewhere. Thanks all for participating.
