Being the only male in a ‘room’ full of women is an intimidating wonder at the best of times, but when they are as talented as these three film directors it truly is an opportunity not to pass up. I was fortunate enough to be joined by four filmmakers carrying excellent short films on their shoulders at this year’s Femme Filmmakers Festival – Dayna Reggero (Planet Prescription); Olivia Martin-McGuire (Freedom Swimmer); Cansu Boğuşlu (Down From the Clouds); Lynn Tomlinson (Ten Degrees of Strange).
Have a listen, and please do seek out the works of these ladies. Don’t forget also to check out the extensive coverage of FemmeFilmFest7 coverage across many sites including here, Film Inquiry, In Their Own League, the Dublin Feminist Film Festival and the FFF official site. Apologies for the sound and visual quality on my part – though the content and responses from these four brilliant individuals glosses over that. Enjoy.
