Fire of Love Leads Critics Choice Documentary Award Nominations

Sara Dosa’s Fire of Love leads the nominations for the 7th Critics Choice Documentary Awards with seven nods including Best Documentary Feature, Best Director, and Best Narration for Miranda July. Ryan White’s Good Night Oppy scored six nominations including Best Documentary Feature, while Daniel Roher’s Navalny and Brett Morgen’s Moonage Daydream each earned five nods.

“This year’s nominees prove that documentaries of all lengths and formats are advancing nonfiction media like never before,” said Christopher Campbell, Co-President of the Critics Choice Association Documentary Branch.

Carla Renata, also co-president of the CCA documentary branch added, “We are also thrilled to witness an exemplary number of women filmmakers and female-focused subjects being represented, further solidifying the Critics Choice Documentary Awards’ commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the documentary landscape.”

Full list of nominations below. The winners will be announced at the Edison Ballroom in New York on Sunday, November 13 at 7pm EST. The awards will also be live-streamed through the Critics Choice Facebook and Instagram.
