The Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Associations (WAFCA) announced their set of winners and have made the awards race crazy by forming a consensus on some categories but not others. For starters, Laurie Metcalf continues to steamroll her way through the Supporting Actress category and Coco is maintaining its momentum in the Best Animated Feature. But Get Out managed to pick up its first Best Picture prize of the season and Gary Oldman has gotten his first Best Actor citation. Also, Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell have regained traction in the Best Actress and Supporting Actor categories, respectively, for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Some other notable wins include Baby Driver for Best Editing (a dark horse contender, perhaps?) and Mudbound for Best Adapted Screenplay.
