The North Carolina Film Critics Association showed major love for Get Out which won Best Narrative Film and both Director and Screenplay for Jordan Peele. Meanwhile, they helped form a critical consensus in the acting races with Gary Oldman winning Best Actor, Sally Hawkins winning Best Actress, Willem Dafoe for The Florida Project, and Laurie Metcalf winning Best Supporting Actress.
Some surprising wins include the largely overlooked Kedi for Best Documentary and Okja for Best Foreign Language Film despite it being mostly in English. Also, there was a tie in Adapted Screenplay with The Disaster Artist and Molly’s Game winning it out.
