The new film directed and co-written (with Simon Blackwell) by Armando Iannucci, The Personal History of David Copperfield, is now showcasing new character posters from the Charles Dickens adaptation. The film of course recently stepped into the world at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, and is set for a UK release in cinemas on 24th January 2020.
The film features a host of household names to bring the whimsy and woes of Victorian England to life. The six posters exclusively revealed feature just a handful of the British acting talent on display. They include Dev Patel (Lion), Tilda Swinton (Suspiria), Hugh Laurie (The Night Manager), Peter Capaldi (In the Loop), Ben Whishaw (Paddington), and Rosalind Eleazar (Howards End). The Personal History of David Copperfield also boasts the likes of Paul Whitehouse (The Death of Stalin), Daisy May Cooper (This Country), and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones).
