Nomadland Wins Big at the 78th Golden Globe Awards

Chloé Zhao’s Nomadland was the big winner at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. The film took home Best Motion Picture – Drama, while Zhao cemented her place as the Oscar frontrunner with her win for Best Director.

Many of the categories went according to plan including Aaron Sorkin collecting his third win for Best Screenplay, Soul taking out both Best Motion Picture – Animated and Best Score, and the late Chadwick Boseman collecting Best Actor – Drama for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Elsewhere, the HFPA threw plenty of shocks our way with upset wins for Andra Day in Best Actress – Drama for The United States vs. Billie Holiday, Jodie Foster in Best Supporting Actress for The Mauritanian, and Rosamund Pike in Best Actress – Comedy for I Care a Lot.
