Months of blood, sweat, and tears of predicting this magnificent game we call the awards race. And now we all can collapse on our sofas – and analyse the 91st Academy Award nominations announced earlier. For some films there’s a sinking feeling, others popped from nowhere, some of the more likely candidates performed how we imagined, and one or two took a real boost (when perhaps many doubters can eat some humble pie).
