So June is officially Pride Month. No it’s nothing to do with the ancient sins. On the contrary, this is when we unite in celebration of the LGBT communities all across the planet. The event’s bookmarking in June goes way back to the Stonewall demonstrations in 1969. Has much changed since then?
Irregardless, this is lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender cornerstone in the name of liberation and expression of identity. So even as we cover the movies right here at Filmotomy, you are going to be seeing a lot more of the rainbow flag on your travels. And it is in the very subject of movies that brings you here today.
It’s quite simple – pick up to ten of the best films that in any way, and strongly, reflect the LGBT community. Be objective, be subjective, but be proud. I’ll tot up the votes and publish a countdown list of the 100 Best LGBT Films. There’s a comments box at the foot if you want to supplement any of your choices with whys or whats. And the inclusion of Name, Email and Website is not mandatory, but does allow me to flaunt many of you as voters when the results arrive.
