Filmotomy is excited to announce the winners of the 9th Femme Filmmakers Festival. There were so many amazing films and filmmakers selected for the festival that it certainly was a tough decision to select just one winner for each category. Above all, this year has seen an amazing selection of short films from female filmmakers across the globe telling emotional, touching, heartfelt stories and everything in between.
Various films have been explored throughout the short films showcased including Drama and Surrealist to Documentary and Animation. While the top three prizes of the festival are the Gold Sovereign, the Silver Sword and the Bronze Bell. Therefore, the competition selection jury members have awarded prizes to the following winners:

Silver Sword (Second Prize)

Special Prize Winners
Special Contribution Prize
The winner of the Special Contribution Prize is awarded to Lara Haciosmanoglu for achieving a high standard of story-telling and film-making with the self-made student film, Hands.
The Maya Deren Short Film Innovation Prize
The winner of The Maya Deren Short Film Innovation Prize is awarded to Katalin Egely (Dir. Cenizas de Agua/Water For Ashes) for the consistently beautiful short animations and dedication to the artist craft. Additionally, in the 9 years of the Femme Filmmakers Festival Egely has had 7 films showcased.
