The Venice International Film Festival celebrates its 82nd year. Running from 27th August through to 6th September 2025, the festival sees screenings from documentaries like Sofia Coppola’s Marc By Sofia, and Benny Safdie’s Sports-Drama, The Smashing Machine, starring Dwyane Johnson and Emily Blunt. Let’s take a look at the five best fashions from the 82nd Venice Film Festival’s red carpet.
5. Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo wears custom Valentino. However, Colman Domingo obviously has an excellent trusted stylist in Wayman Bannerman. He always excels on the red carpet. And the 82nd Venice Film Festival was no different. But Colman Domingo’s well-tailored emerald, green jacket with an added belt gave reminiscence of the red carpet for Wicked (2024). The talented Oscar-nominated actor was also a co-host for the amfAR Venice Gala 2025.
4. Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts wears Versace by Dario Vitale. Consistently classy on the red carpet, Hollywood legend and veteran, Julia Roberts chose a powerhouse suit on the opening carpet of the Venice International Film Festival 2025. Even though, Amanda Seyfried famously borrowed the same look at the festival after admiring Julia’s style. Although, we can’t forget that Julia did it first!
3. Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney wears a Jean-Louis Scherrer gown. Although of course stepping out in bold style, Amal Clooney took to the red carpet in a vividly bold deep fuchsia pink gown. Even in every detail on her gown, from the bodycon bodice and buttons to the long puffy train; Amal set out to make a statement on the carpet and it clearly worked.
Although Amal also brought vintage fashion to the red carpet, wearing a Scherrer gown from the 1995 Autumn/Winter collection. She also attended the premiere of Noah Baumbach’s Jay Kelly, alongside it’s leading star and her husband, George Clooney.
2. Eve Hewson
Eve Hewson wears Schiaparelli. But her black strapless dress even gave gothic vibes and was taken straight from Schiaparelli’s Fall 2025 collection. Star of The Perfect Couple (2024) looks as if she could be in the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday alongside queen of goth fashion, Jenna Ortega. Although, it’s really within the details here that create such a stunning ballgown. Also, there’s black sequins to add sparkle, alongside crepe, and silk tulle for added dramatic flair.
1. Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried wears custom Prada. The strapless square neck floor-length navy gown was accentuated with buttons running down the front. Additionally, along with a giant red statement bow to add a little pop of colour. Attending the premiere of Mona Fastvold’s musical-drama, The Testament of Ann Lee, Amanda Seyfried paired her look with a choker and a simple Updo. But Amanda’s other look for the festival was a Versace suit, just like Julia Robert’s Venice Film Festival look.
