‘Titane’, ‘Mass’, ‘The Power of the Dog’ Winners at the 3rd Annual Pandora International Film Critics Awards

Julia Ducournau directing Filmotomy

Welcome to the Pandora International Film Critics awards for 2021. The36 members of the critics group have had to watch a lot of films to get where we are today. And now, with the arduous – yet exhilarating – preferential ranking system all calculated and finalised, we can reveal the winners in 23 categories.

The Palme d’Or winner, Titane, came away with top honours at the 2021 Pandora International Film Critics awards, with four wins. These included Breakthrough Agathe Rousselle and Directing for Julia Ducournau, as well as Editing and the big prize, International Motion Picture. Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog was pipped at the post with three awards, including English Language Motion Picture, and Fran Kranz won Screenwriting for Mass as one of its three wins.

Two other apparent heavy hitters were Drive My Car – Actor and Screenwriting – and Dune – Sound and Special Effects. Flee was a double winner also with the Documentary and Animated film awards. A couple of popular wins for Cruella too in the technical categories.

Sadly, even with 11 nominations going into the night’s awards, Spencer in the end came away with zero wins. That said, there was a fairly decent spread of winners coming away with a single win, with The Lost Daughter, The French Dispatch, The Worst Person In The World, Passing and No Time to Die.

I make sure it's known the company's in business. I'd see that it had a certain panache. That's what I'm good at. Not the work, not the work... the presentation.
