EFA Announce 8 Technical Winners Ahead of the 31st European Film Awards Nominations

The continental big-hitters from Cannes back in May, are rolling up their sleeves once again as the European Film Awards revealed their nominations. All 5 European Film nominees came out of the French Riviera with prizes – Cold War (Best Director), Dogman (Best Actor), Happy as Lazzaro (Best Screenplay), Border (Un Certain regard), and Girl (FIPRESCI Prize, Camera d’Or, Queer Palm, Un Certain Regard Best Actor). Each film also competes in EFA’s acting submissions.

Meanwhile, over in Berlin, the EFA announced the very first winners in technical categories (earlier than the show as they usually do). The one-off congregation of the jury members (Luca Bigazzi, cinematographer; Dasha Danilova, editor; Dadi Einarsson, visual effects supervisor; Mattias Eklund, sound designer; Marcelle Genovese, hair & make-up artist; Malina Ionescu, costume designer; Monica Rottmeyer, production designer; Christopher Slaski, composer) declared the following winners.
