Where do you stand on Streaming Services and their place in film?
I think streaming services are fine, I would prefer to have films made for the big screen and a wider range of independent/world cinema films being shown in cinemas. However, I am happy to watch these films via Netflix or MUBI as long as they continue to stream them.
What is your Honest Opinion on the entire Star Wars saga?
The original films are classics. They prequels are messy but ambitious. The Force Awakens felt too safe and too much of a cash-in, but The Last Jedi was bloated and very off in its tone. I don’t enjoy Star Wars as much as I used to. Maybe, I am more grown up now or made its a response to the toxic fanbase?
We really need a Film Twitter definition – what is yours?
Film Twitter is a place where no-one can agree on anything, unless its a film made by Greta Gerwig, Jordon Peele or it’s been released by A24. It’s where friendships can be ended by one emoji.
Share one of your most Controversial movie world opinions?
There is nothing wrong with Wild Wild West, Water World or Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome.
Change one thing about a Masterpiece, and tell us why?
Gender swapping Veritgo. I think there’s not enough films about female obsession and sexuality.

”You’ve got red on you.”
”Call that a knife?”
”I’ve got to return some videotapes.”
What is the Role of a Film Critic – and how important are they?
A good critic should use their emotional response to a film in their review in order to try to convince the reader why they should or shouldn’t see a film. They should ensure to critique the film in a constructive manner and explain their reasons without resorting to petty slurs or name calling. A good critic should make you laugh, or question a certain film or filmmaker. A good critic will not give away spoilers just to pad out their review. They are important as they keep the whole world of film in track. They bring balance to the world cinema.
A Film Buff asks you for advice starting a Website / Podcast – what do you tell them?
Do plenty of research. Try to have a niche so your website or podcast stands out. Don’t rush it to it. Remember that hard word pays off and don’t give up on the first hurdle. Always be open to feedback.
