Lady Bird Conquers With Chicago Film Critics Association Winners

Lady Bird managed to take flight at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards, winning Best Film, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Promising Filmmaker for Greta Gerwig. But coming right behind is Call Me By Your Name which won three awards: Best Actor and Most Promising Performer for Timothee Chalamet and Best Adapted Screenplay for James Ivory. But Christopher Nolan managed to pick up a much needed Best Director win for Dunkirk. For a while, it seemed like he was a frontrunner to win the Oscar in that category before the film peaked too soon. He’s still in the hunt for a nomination, though, and wins like this keep his momentum going.
