Producers Guild of America Reveal Film Nominees

Apparently we are at the business end of the awards season as the Guilds kick into gear. The Producers Guild Awards nominees were revealed earlier, with a mixed bag of reactions from the film stratosphere. Critically acclaimed films like If Beale Street Could Talk, Eighth Grade, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, First Man, Hereditary, First Reformed, all featured in the line-up. By ‘featured’ I mean ‘totally absent’. Nowhere to be seen. Zilch. I suppose it is understandable given the universal praise of films like Vice, Green Book, and Bohemian Rhapsody. By ‘understandable’ I mean ‘totally absurd’. The mind truly boggles. Here are the actual nominees:

The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures:
Black Panther
BlacKkKlansman
Bohemian Rhapsody
Crazy Rich Asians
The Favourite
Green Book
A Quiet Place
Roma
A Star Is Born
Vice
The Award for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Pictures:
The Dawn Wall
Free Solo
Hal
Into the Okavango
RBG
Three Identical Strangers
Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
The Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures:
Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch
Incredibles 2
Isle of Dogs
Ralph Breaks the Internet
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
