The annual pre-Oscars dinner was hosted in collaboration by Chanel and Charles Finch as their 16th time co-hosting. Hollywood celebrities gathered in the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, California on 1st March 2025 to celebrate the run-up to the Oscars ceremony. Big stars attended the glam event all wearing pieces from Chanel collections.

Among the stars were Oscar nominees for best actress and actor in a leading role including Demi Moore, Sebastian Stan and Adrien Brody. Huge names in the music industry also attended the pre-Oscars dinner with the likes of Mick Jagger, and H.E.R. ‘rolling’ up to the star-studded event. The theme at this year’s pre-Oscars dinner was texture. Let’s see the best looks that rocked this theme.

Pre-Oscars Dinner: Honourable Mention

Demi Moore

She’s a winner in our eyes for her fashion throughout this year’s film award season. Demi Moore stepped out in a classic black tweed suit jacket and matching knee-length shorts.

However, the jacket is truly remarkable and has plenty of embroidered details with black sequins and turquoise buttons.

As well as blue flowers adorning around the collar, pockets, hem and cuffs. Demi truly dazzled in this look as a Hollywood icon.

5. Phoebe Tonkin

Australian actress, Phoebe Tonkin is perhaps best-known for her lead role as Cleo Sertori in the children and teen drama show, H20: Just Add Water also attended the event.

Here Phoebe wears a tweed suit in a matching cropped jacket and mini skirt. However, as a Chanel ambassador, it comes as no surprise that Phoebe chose a tweed suit from one of the designer house’s signature styles.

4. Elle Fanning

Also glitzing her way to the Pre-Oscars dinner was Elle Fanning who stars in A Complete Unknown, received 8 Oscar nominations – wore a winter trend for this years pre-Oscars dinner.

Opting for a navy sparkle mesh cape to match her glitzy dress – the star looked glamorous in the navy ensemble which was also accentuated with golden accents.

Although quite contrast in their styles, as her plus one, Elle’s older sister and Hollywood child star, Dakota Fanning rocked up wearing an aqua-blue silk dress with a matching velvet jacket by Chanel.

3. Louisa Jacobson

American actress, Louisa Jacobson looked chic in another classic staple from Chanel. Although her matching black cropped suit jacket and skirt set impressively dazzled in sparkles, it was really the jacket cuffs matching the pleats on the skirt that put this look on the list.

Undoubtedly, it was the simple black buttons and a flouncy collar which truly topped off the look. This timeless boucle jacket and skirt style paired well with her shimmery black chain purse.

2. Felicity Jones

Felicity Jones rocks a bright pastel-coloured button-up tweed suit dress. The draping cape and the skirt’s underlay matched in their flowy white fabric. However, it was this look that created a unique twist on the tweed style from the Chanel designer powerhouse.

Of course, another achievement for Felicity Jones was her nomination for ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ in The Brutalist at the 97th Academy Awards.

1. H.E.R.

However, it was Grammy award-winner, H.E.R. who outshined everyone on the night wearing an oversized black Chanel suit jacket. Of course, it’s embedded with sparkles and a black satin lapel and matching cuffs.

Although, it was really H.E.R.’s thigh-high black boots that stole the whole night. Completely embedded with black sequins – they were the moment!

As if the look was not already stunning enough, her over-the-shoulder mini purse replicated an old film camera. Even so, the bag was also embossed with the Chanel logo and is the filmmaker’s dream for red carpet fashion.

Pre-Oscars Dinner Styles

The 2025 pre-Oscars party theme was texture, and the five women selected in this list were dressed not only perfectly in Chanel but within the selected theme. But whilst Elle Fanning and Felicity Jones jumped on the cape trend others opted for suit jackets with a little sparkle.

Also trending looks from the night were Demi Moore, Phoebe Tonkin, Louisa Jacobson, and H.E.R. who dazzled in smart glamorous suits. Shimmer was also a big trend at the pre-Oscars party from Louisa Jacobson’s sequinned chain purse to H.E.R.’s bedazzled thigh-high boots.
