Anora Dominates 97th Academy Awards Nominations

Sean Baker’s Anora has dominated the 97th Academy Awards with five wins for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Mikey Madison, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing. Baker makes history as the first person to win four Academy Awards in one evening for the same film. He ties the record with Walt Disney for the most Oscars by one person in one ceremony. The Brutalist took home three awards including Best Actor for Adrien Brody, while I’m Still Here scored an upset win for Best International Feature Film. There were a few surprises, which we’ll analyse in our annual piece coming shortly.
