Final Oscars Nominations Predictions – Best Animated Feature

With the Academy’s nominations announcement drawing closer by the day, it’s time to lay it all on the line with my final Oscar nomination predictions. It’s been a fairly dull battle for the five nominations for Best Animated Feature. The Wild Robot, Flow, Inside Out 2, and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl have all nabbed nominations from BAFTA, the Critics’ Choice Awards, the Golden Globes, and the Producers Guild of America, so they’re all locked in.

And then there’s the little Australian contender Memoir of a Snail. It missed at BAFTA, due to there only being four nominees, but it landed at CCA and GG and that should be enough to see it get that fifth spot. Its only real competitor is Moana 2, given its PGA and GG nominations. Memoir has the critical acclaim. Moana 2 has the commercial success. Academy voters tend to favour the former when it comes to this category.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE PREDICTIONS:
1. The Wild Robot (DreamWorks) – BAFTA, CCA, GG, PGA
2. Flow (Janus Films) – BAFTA, CCA, EFA, GG, PGA
3. Inside Out 2 (Disney/Pixar) – BAFTA, CCA, GG, PGA
4. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (Netflix) – BAFTA, CCA, GG, PGA
5. Memoir of a Snail (IFC Films) – CCA, GG

Alternate: Moana 2 (Walt Disney) – GG, PGA
