Final Oscars Nominations Predictions – Best Film Editing

With the Academy’s nominations announcement drawing closer by the day, it’s time to lay it all on the line with my final Oscar nomination predictions. With the ACE Eddie Award nominations not announced until two days after the Oscar noms, we have to look elsewhere to see how the race for Best Film Editing is shaping. Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things are the three contenders to score nods from both BAFTA and the Critics Choice Awards, so let’s presume they’re our trio of solid nomination locks.

Anatomy of a Fall has really started picking up steam since the Golden Globes and that BAFTA nom for editing showed its strength to land an Oscar nomination too. The Holdovers has started to peak as well and if it’s going to prove itself a Best Picture contender, it will nab an editing nomination too. That being said, if Barbie overperforms, expect it to steal that final spot.

BEST FILM EDITING PREDICTIONS:
1. Oppenheimer – Jennifer Lame (Universal Pictures) – BAFTA, CCA
2. Killers of the Flower Moon – Thelma Schoonmaker (Paramount Pictures / Apple Original Films) – BAFTA, CCA
3. Poor Things – Yorgos Mavropsaridis (Searchlight Pictures) – BAFTA, CCA
4. Anatomy of a Fall – Laurent Sénéchal (NEON) – BAFTA
4. The Holdovers – Kevin Tent (Focus Features)

Alternate: Barbie – Nick Houy (Warner Bros.) – CCA
