Final Oscars Predictions – Best Makeup and Hairstyling

I can distinctly remember after viewing The Substance, my first thought was, “Wouldn’t it be great if something like this could win the Oscar for makeup and hairstyling? But that’s never going to happen.” I’ve never been happier to be wrong. With wins at the BAFTAs, the Critics Choice Awards, and the Makeup and Hairstylists Guild Awards, The Substance is indeed on the cusp of an Oscar win that seemed unfathomable back in June.

Given this category often matches an eventual acting win, this could be a great sign for Demi Moore. But we’ll get to that battle in another piece. For now, let’s celebrate the fact a twisted horror film filled with some of the most grotesque and unsettling physical effects the screen has ever seen is going to score an Academy Award. Who’d have thunk it?
