
The winners of the 39th American Society of Cinematographers Awards for feature films and documentaries have been announced. Edward Lachman has taken home Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography – Theatrical Release for Maria and Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw won Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography – Documentary for Gaucho Gaucho. Eight of the past 11 ASC winners for Theatrical Release have gone on to win the Oscar for Best Cinematography.
Jomo Fray was this year’s recipient of the Spotlight Award for Nickel Boys, John Simmons was presented the President’s Award, and Andrzej Bartkowiak was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Kathleen Kennedy was honoured with the Board of Governors Award.
