The San Diego Film Critics Society pulled their weight behind Get Out which won both Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. Even though Lady Bird was runner-up in both categories, it still pulled off a Supporting Actress win for Laurie Metcalf who tied with Allison Janney for I, Tonya. Other notable wins include the battle between two James’ in Best Actor: McAvoy for Split and Franco for The Disaster Artist, and Sally Hawkins tying with herself in Best Actress for her performances in The Shape Of Water and Maudie.
