VIDEO: 1979 in Film – 50 of the Best

1979

Welcome to 1979 in Film. My oh my what a decade that was. And the seventies ended with an extremely memorable year. Francis Ford Coppola and Bob Fosse would go head-to-head for the third time this decade. The horror film had one of its few peaks – with the vampire flourishing. Woody Allen and Roman Polanski made great films. The Brits made a few cult classics – as did Germany. There was also the arrival of Mad Max and Star Trek, and the return of Rocky. And we’re only skimming the surface.

So here it is. The Best 50 Films of 1979, counting down according to the incredible amount of votes received from many of you. As usual, it took a couple of days to edit this beast, so would really appreciate you watching the 8 minutes. I am particularly proud of a certain edit, see if you can guess which. And please subscribe to the channel, we are starting from scratch pretty much but would love to build it up. Enjoy.
