Unless you’re working through the night, like for example, a bellboy, you can pretty much make your on mind up of the company you keep. I am sure the like of Allison, Alexandre, Robert, and Quentin are magnetic company, New Year’s Eve or not. I think even Tim, Amanda, Jennifer, Lawrence et all would know how to party better than their characters portrayed. In fact, a coven of witches, a hostage wife, misbehaving children, and pinky chopping ought to be a hoot, right?
Be Nice To Your Family (The Godfather: Part II – 1974)
Don’t go behind your family’s back. Simple as that. Otherwise your New Year’s party is going to suck. I mean, your brother loves you, but he knows it was you, and you broke his heart. That said, if he allows you to explain yourself, disowns you, then seemingly forgives you after your sister begs, I would still say avoid any boat trips out on the lake for while.
Make A Lifestyle Change (About a Boy – 2002)
Living off royalties, never committing, living something of a social lie – none of this might be you of course. But we often don’t feel a change coming like the direction shift of the wind. Be it the loyalty and attraction to a potential partner, or the awakening that arises through the friendship of an unlikely source. Embrace the change that’s going to make you happy.
Share Your Memories (Strange Days – 1995)
Surely the stuff of science fiction includes being able to look back and respect the actual past. Remember the end of 1999, and our nostalgia went into overdrive, craving that brand new start more than ever? Wouldn’t it be nice, too, to record our experiences, feelings, thoughts, to share them with others? For now, simply converse as you see fit. Happy New Year.
Tell Them That You Love Them (When Harry Met Sally… – 1989)
Tell them that you love them for getting cold when it is 71 degrees out. Tell them that you love them for making amazing food they deem below average. That you love them for enlightening all senses by a simple touch of the hand. That you love you can spend the whole day together doing nothing, and still create warm memories. And tell them it’s not because you’re lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. And if you want to declare your love for the first time, you could do far worse than telling them when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.
