Best Documentary Feature Oscars Predictions (February)

For yet another season, the race for Best Documentary Feature has been a topsy-turvy one. And it’s one we’ll dive into deeper with a final predictions piece before Oscar night. The final five nominees unveiled in late January were missing some expected contenders like Cover-Up, Apocalypse in the Tropics, and 2000 Meters to Andriivka, which recently won the DGA Award.

The Perfect Neighbor overcame the Critics Choice Documentary Awards curse to nab an Oscar nomination, but can it go all the way? It stumbled when it lost the BAFTA to Mr. Nobody Against Putin last weekend. And, as mentioned above, it couldn’t score the DGA prize earlier this month. It probably still sits in the frontrunner position for now, but all eyes will turn to the PGA Awards this weekend. Three Oscar nominees are in the running. If one of them is our PGA winner, that could be the safest prediction at the end.
