Best Documentary Feature Oscars Predictions (October)

It’s still early days in the race for Best Documentary Feature, particularly while we await the Oscars shortlist to be unveiled on December 16 and other key precursor nominations from Cinema Eye Honors (November 13), the International Documentary Association (November 18), and the European Film Awards (November 18).

For now, we’ve had the nominations for the Critics Choice Documentary Awards, which will unveil their winners on November 9. Last year’s big winner, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, fell to the Critics Choice curse and wasn’t even short-listed by the Academy, so you have to take this ceremony with a grain of salt. Still, the nominations domination of films like Orwell: 2+2=5, The Perfect Neighbor, The Alabama Solution, and 2000 Meters to Andriivka is a solid start to their campaigns.
