Best Production Design Oscars Predictions (February)

Late January brought us our five Oscar nominees for Best Production Design, with the only minor surprise being One Battle After Another, which made it through for a rare nomination for contemporary work. If it sweeps like crazy, there’s a mild chance it could pull off an upset here, but don’t count on it.

Frankenstein has been the frontrunner since the beginning of the season, and this month has only strengthened that with wins at the BAFTAs and with the Set Decorators Society of America to add to its earlier win at the Critics Choice Awards. You’d have to presume it will also score at the Art Directors Guild Awards this weekend to really lock this category down.
