Okay, so I recognize that there are a number of known directors here in the competition group, but I haven’t heard of any of these films before. So I am coming in 100% fresh to these films, and have no idea yet what will be the standout films and what might go on to be theatrical release successes. Probably I’m most excited for new Todd Haynes and Yorgos Lanthimos, but also new Michel Hazanavicius since I liked his past film, The Artist.
It seems like it could have been a great opportunity for Christopher Nolan to release Dunkirk, but I guess maybe it’s still not finished yet…?
