Final Oscars Predictions – Best International Feature Film

One can only imagine how the race for Best International Feature Film may have looked if France had submitted critics’ darling and Palme d’Or winner Anatomy of a Fall as their selection this year. When pitted against Grand Prix winner The Zone of Interest, we may have had the closest battle in this category we’ve seen in years.

Both scored multiple Oscars nominations including Best Picture and Director. The former took home the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award. The latter scored at BAFTA. What would the Academy have picked? Alas, it was not to be, and now the UK’s selection has a practically unassailable path to the Oscars stage. Is there a chance of a shock upset? In short, no. The UK will win this category for the first time ever and Anatomy of a Fall will have to look elsewhere for an Oscar win.
