One Battle After Another Wins With American Society of Cinematographers

The winners of the 40th American Society of Cinematographers Awards for feature films and documentaries have been announced. Michael Bauman has taken home Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography – Theatrical Release for One Battle After Another. Mstyslav Chernov and Alex Babenko won Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography – Documentary for 2000 Meters from Andriivka. Eight of the past 12 ASC winners for Theatrical Release have gone on to win the Oscar for Best Cinematography.

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro received the ASC’s Board of Governors Award, recognising his indelible impact on the art of cinematic storytelling, and his career-long history as a champion of directors of photography.

Oscar nominee Robert Yeoman, ASC received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Longtime governor and founding co-chair of the Society’s Vision Committee Cynthia Pusheck, ASC was presented with the the Presidents Award.
