Pain And Glory from Pedro Almodovar Wins 6 Platino Awards

Pedro Almodovar’s Pain And Glory (Spain) was the big winner at the 2020 Platino Xcaret Awards celebrating Ibero-American cinema. The ceremony took place virtually on YouTube on 29th June, after originally being scheduled for early May in Riviera Maya, Mexico (because of the Covid-19 pandemic). Now in its 7th year, the Platino Awards have previously honoured highly acclaimed films such as Embrace of the Serpent, A Fantastic Woman, Roma and record 8-time winner Wild Tales.

The 2020 Platino Awards saw Almodovar’s Pain and Glory pick up 6 trophies. Including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor for Oscar nominee and Cannes winner Antonio Banderas, and of course Best Ibero-American Film.
