Parasite Rules the Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics as the Dorian Awards Winners are announced

Parasite GALECA

The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics have announced their 2019 winners in film and TV, where the most acclaimed film of the year, Bong joon-ho’s Parasite, won five Dorian Awards. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Lady Gaga, Florence Pugh and Cats – yes, Cats – also won prizes.

GALECA members total around 240 entertainment journalists who are part of and/or advocate the growing LGBTQ film community. Diane Anderson-Minshall, GALECA’s President, said “When director Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite nearly swept our awards roster with five wins, I was not surprised. Though it’s a Korean film, Parasite speaks rather allegorically to the times we live in I think… appearances, as we know from politics, aren’t everything. Parasite is a perfect film for the Trump era.”

The Dorian Awards Winners Toast will take place on 2nd February in Los Angeles. For now, here are the winners – nominations can be found in full here.

I make sure it's known the company's in business. I'd see that it had a certain panache. That's what I'm good at. Not the work, not the work... the presentation.
