The Society Of Composers And Lyricists have announced their nominations for 2021 with Nicolas Britell, Diane Warren, and Jonny Greenwood earning two nominations each.
Britell scored nominations for composing the score for Don’t Look Up and co-writing the song “Just Look Up” with Ariana Grande, Scott Mescdi, and Taura Stinson. Warren landed two songwriting nominations for “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days and “(Never Gonna) Tame You” from The Mustangs: America’s Wild Horses. Greenwood earned nominations for composing the scores for The Power of the Dog and Spencer.
Carter Burwell and filmmakers Joel Coen and Ethan Coen will receive the Spirit of Collaboration Award for the 17 films they have collaborated on over the last 37 years.
