Spotlight on Josephine Decker and Cannes Takeover Coming to MUBI

One of last year’s indie darlings in America, Madeline’s Madeline, is exclusively being released on MUBI in the UK, on 10th May. Writer-director Josephine Decker will see some of her extraordinary early work also showing on MUBI in May. These will include Art History, which she co-wrote and co-starred in, her feature fiction debut, Butter on the Latch, and the chilling Thou Wast Mild and Lovely.

With the 72nd Cannes Film Festival just around the corner, MUBI has assigned a great selection of movies showcased previously at the festival. An eclectic mix has movies that are polarizing (Only God Forgives), innovative European films (Force Majeure), motion pictures from Cannes regulars like Ken Loach (The Angel’s Share). Not to mention an early gem from this year’s Jury President (Amores Perros), a brilliant Pedro Almodóvar produced ensemble (Wild Tales), and of course, Palme d’Or winners (The White Ribbon).

The Cannes Takeover arrivals are as follows:

14th May — Force Majeure
15th May — The Angel’s Share
17th May — Paranoid Park
18th May — Only God Forgives
19th May — Wild Tales
20th May — Norte, The End Of History
21st May — The Death of Mr. Lazarescu
22nd May — We Need to Talk About Kevin
23rd May — Mimosas
24th May — Amores Perros
25th May — The White Ribbon

I make sure it's known the company's in business. I'd see that it had a certain panache. That's what I'm good at. Not the work, not the work... the presentation.
