Writers Guild of America Reveal Nominations

The Writers Guild of America have announced their nominees for 2018. Incredibly, The Favourite was completely shut out. I kid of course, because of the WGA ruling, certain films that fall outside of American production are deemed ineligible. So The Favourite screenwriters Tony McNamara and Deborah Davis will sit this one out, but almost certainly will return when the Oscar nominations are announced. Here are the WGA nominations:


Eighth Grade – Bo Burnham

Green Book – Nick Vallelonga, Brian Currie, Peter Farrelly

A Quiet Place – Bryan Woods, Scott Beck, John Krasinski

Roma – Alfonso Cuarón

Vice – Adam McKay


BlacKkKlansman – Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Kevin Willmott, Spike Lee; Based on the book by Ron Stallworth

Black Panther – Ryan Coogler, Joe Robert Cole; Based on the Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby

Can You Ever Forgive Me? – Nicole Holofcener, Jeff Whitty; Based on the book by Lee Israel

If Beale Street Could Talk – Barry Jenkins; Based on the novel by James Baldwin;

A Star is Born – Eric Roth, Bradley Cooper, Will Fetters; Based on the 1954 film by Moss Hart, and the 1976 film by John Gregory Dunne and Joan Didion and Frank Pierson, and the story by William Wellman and Robert Carson


Bathtubs Over Broadway – Ozzy Inguanzo, Dava Whisenant

Fahrenheit 11/9 – Michael Moore

Generation Wealth – Lauren Greenfield

In Search of Greatness – Gabe Polsky
