Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers leads this year’s Dorian Awards nominations from GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics with nine nods including Film of the Year, LGBTQ Film of the Year, Director of the Year, and Screenplay of the Year. Elsewhere, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie scored seven nominations, Todd Haynes’ May December earned six nods.
Formed in 2009, GALECA now consists of over 400 professional critics and entertainment journalists (including Filmotomy’s Editor Robin Write and Awards Editor Doug Jamieson), making it one of the largest and most influential organizations of its type in the world. Members are predominantly based in the U.S., with some in Canada, Australia and the U.K. They work or freelance for an impressive array of online, print and broadcast outlets.
