Best Animated Feature Oscars Predictions (November)

A new Studio Ghibli title is always cause for celebration, but particularly when it’s directed by Gorō Miyazaki, the son of the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. With recent confirmation Miyazaki’s Earwig and the Witch will debut in Japan in December and in the US in early 2021, the film is now firmly in this race.

While we wait to see what Miyazaki has to offer, the battle for Best Animated Feature firmly remains a two-horse race between the might of perennial winner Pixar and newcomer AppleTV+. If Soul manages to nab a Best Picture nomination, you’d assume the race for this category is all but over. But Apple will be throwing all its might behind Wolfwalkers and lord knows Cartoon Saloon are overdue for a victory.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE PREDICTIONS:
1. Soul (Disney)
2. Wolfwalkers (GKIDS/AppleTV+)
3. Over the Moon (Netflix)
4. Earwig and the Witch (Studio Ghibli)
