It’s been nine years since K-pop girl group powerhouse, BLACKPINK debuted. The four-member girl group formed in South Korea in 2016 consists of quartet – Rosé, Jisoo, Jennie, and Lisa. They’ve since become the biggest K-pop girl group in the world. The popular group have had two world tours in that time having previously performed in London at Wembley Arena in 2019 for their ‘In Your Area Tour’ and at The O2 Arena in 2022 for their ‘Born Pink’ tour.
BLACKPINK are multi-hyphenates having also starred in a string of TV shows. Jisoo leads Disney Plus’ K-Drama, Snowdrop (2021), whilst Jennie starred in Sam Levinson’s HBO mini-series, The Idol (2023) alongside Lily Rose-Depp. And Lisa starred as ‘Mook’ in season three of Mike White’s Emmy award-winning series, The White Lotus (2021-). Even performing at the Academy Awards this year, Lisa sung a rendition of Paul McCartney’s Live And Let Die, from the Bond movie of the same name. Recently, Rosé’s song Messy featured on the F1: The Movie (2025) soundtrack.
BLACKPINK: High-Octane Energy Setlist
Rosé brought the stunning vocals, Jisoo brought the elegance and fashion, Lisa brought the dance skills and smiles, and Jennie brought the rap and fierce energy. Their fanbase, known collectively as ‘BLINKS’ were as loyal as always, armed with their bright pink lightstick heart-shaped hammers which filled the stadium in what K-pop terms a ‘pink sea.’
The concert played out in five acts along with an Encore. The structure ran like telling a stage story. Act One covered some of the group’s most popular songs like Shut Down. Then rolled on Act Two to showcase solo stages from Jisoo and Lisa. Act Three focused on more BLACKPINK songs, including their debut song, Whistle. While Act Four interspersed into Jennie’s solo stage, and Rosé’s solo performances.

Then Act Five focused on some of their old but classic songs, like arguably their best-ever in the powerfully charming, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du. Each BLACKPINK member received their own time to shine. Then came the Encore for the last songs and final send-off which gives the girls some time to interact with the crowd.
Rosé and Jisoo had more of a soulful vibe with slower-paced songs compared to the upbeat electric-pop of Jennie and Lisa’s solo songs. Nonetheless, each member offers their own strengths to the group which makes them stand-out. And their solo stages really represented who they each are as artists. Their solo stages showcased not only their vibes and strengths but their individual music taste and styles too.
BLACKPINK’s Powerful Solo Stages
Arguably the hidden ace of the group is Rosé. She’s vocally powerful, a strong dancer, and is the spokesperson for BLACKPINK when it comes to interacting with the crowd. Not to mention she can play the guitar and piano too. There’s always been speculation on which BLACKPINK member is the leader. But it’s certainly clear on the Europe leg of their tour that Rosé is the ‘unofficial’ leader. At award shows and TV interview appearances, she is often the one that speaks up for the group.
Jennie undeniably has the strongest stage presence on her solo songs. Yet when the group performs together the stage presence is more equally evened out. Lisa is very smiley on stage, and she clearly loves performing. The stage is where she is meant to be. Jisoo is like an elegant fairy, and she consistently has the best stage outfits. She’s definitely the most mature and is known as the ‘mother’ of the group.

To coincide with their Wembley Tour, they held two London pop-up stores – one titled, BLACKPINK Deadline and one for Rosé’s first-ever studio album titled, Rosie. Wembley’s arch turned pink this past weekend. Pink fireworks, powerful vocals, and high energy that encourages you to Jump. Even though it might be the last tour for the world’s leading girl group, a mini album is set to be released this November.
Rating: 3 Stars.
