CODA Named Best Picture by Hollywood Critics Association

CODA has been named Best Picture by the Hollywood Critics Association at the 5th Annual HCA Film Awards. The film also picked up wins for Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur, Best Indie Film, and Best Adapted Screenplay for Siân Heder.

Elsewhere, Kristen Stewart (Spencer) and Andrew Garfield (tick, tick… BOOM!) collected Best Actress and Actor, respectively, while Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) continued her run of success with another win for Best Supporting Actress. tick, tick… BOOM! was named Best Comedy or Musical, while Lin-Manuel Miranda was awarded Best First Feature.

In previously announced awards, Nicolas Cage was the recipient of this year’s Acting Achievement Award, Guillermo del Toro was presented the Filmmaking Achievement Award, Kenneth Branagh received the Excellence in Artistry Award, Aunjanue Ellis was bestowed the Inspire Award, Simu Liu was presented the Gamechanger Award, Natalie Morales received the Filmmaker on the Rise Award, cinematographers Greig Fraser and Alice Brooks were honoured with the Artisans Achievement and the Artisan on the Rise Award, respectively, King Richard‘s Saniyya Sidney was awarded the Star on the Rise Award, Belfast‘s Jude Hill was presented the Newcomer Award, and Javier Bardem received the inaugural International Icon Award.
