28th Screen Actors Guild Awards Winners Announced

The winners of the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have been announced and it was Apple TV+’s CODA that was the big winner of the night, taking home the prizes for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Troy Kotsur.

Elsewhere, Will Smith expectedly scored Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for King Richard, while Ariana DeBose continued her awards season sweep with a win for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for West Side Story.

The only true shock of the night was Jessica Chastain’s victory for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for The Eyes of Tammy Faye. This category is now officially just as wild as last year and we will likely head into Oscar night with different winners at all four major televised awards. Is Chastain now the frontrunner? Or will this be another SAG misdirection like Viola Davis’ win last year?
