Dune Wins With American Society of Cinematographers

The winners of the 36th American Society of Cinematographers Awards for feature films and documentaries have been announced. Greig Fraser has taken home Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography – Theatrical Release for Dune and Jessica Beshir has won Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography – Documentary for Faya Dayi. Pat Scola was this year’s recipient of the Spotlight Award for Pig, John Lindley was presented the President’s Award, and Ellen Kuras was the first female cinematographer to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Erik Messerschmidt’s win from the ASC for Mank last year ultimately signalled his eventual win at the Academy Awards, so this win for Fraser could prove extremely telling.
