European Film Awards – 1st Phase

Another awards event that ought to have much more impact, or at least attention, on the great big awards season is the European Film Awards. Before the “main event” announcements coming from Poland on December 10th, where Pierce Brosnan will receive the European Achievement in World Cinema award, seven preliminary feature film awards were handed out last week – Martin Zandvliet’s war film Land Of Mine nabbing three of them. This time around in Berlin, the seven-headed jury (Benoît Barouh, Paco Delgado, Martin Gschlacht, Dean Humphreys, Era Lapid, Waldemar Pokromski, and Giuliano Taviani) came to a decision on the following early winners:
