‘Joker’, ‘1917’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, ‘The Irishman’ top the 92nd Academy Awards Nominations

92nd Oscars Nominations

Welcome to the last great day of hope in the awards season. That’s right, it is that time again – our Christmas Eve – as we awaited with sweaty palms and heavy heads the 92nd Academy Awards nominations. With the Oscars ceremony crowning a shortened awards season on Sunday 9th February, today launches us into the true contenders for gold.

Would the divisive Joker be one of the most nominated films? Would those international films do well? Could Jennifer Lopez really be snubbed? Well, yes to all three. Joker landed 11 Oscar nominations, one more than 1917, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman. Other than the J-Lo absence, there were little what people would call surprises. Todd Phillips’ film certainly over-achieved, while Little Women and Jojo Rabbit quenched the doubts with multiple nods including Best Picture. Parasite also did rather well, also grabbing nominations in Picture, Director, Screenplay and Editing. Ford v Ferrari and Marriage Story make up the nine Best Picture nominees this year.

Let’s have a look…

I make sure it's known the company's in business. I'd see that it had a certain panache. That's what I'm good at. Not the work, not the work... the presentation.
