So those SAG people are about to announce the nominations for the 2018 awards. The Screen Actors Guild are usually seen as one of the most prominent, accurate indications of where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tend to go with their votes. There’ll be a majority of names we’ve been hearing and reading for months now, but also without fail a couple of surprises.
Is The Favourite a dead certainty? Will popular awards seasons films like A Star is Born or Green Book miss out on the Ensemble list? They should in my eyes. And who will be cheeky enough to sneak into the Acting categories? Margot Robbie? Carey Mulligan? Which contenders could be bumped? Claire Foy? Not Glenn Close, surely?
The nominations are announced 10am Eastern time, 7am West, which is 3pm London. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
